Relationship Breakdown

Two elderly people are living as a de facto couple.

Both individuals have children from previous          marriages but neither party had effective Wills      preserving the property for their respective              biological children.

The husband died, and his Will was challenged                      by his de facto partner. The result was a 2-year                  long Court case in the Supreme Court where                  neither party was satisfied with the outcome.

When the Widower eventually dies, the girlfriend        receives all the property that has been preserved              and accumulated by the Widower’s adult children.
